This covered Polo Field is for use primarily during the rainy season for the Royal Family in Brunei. Polo enjoys great popularity in this Southeast Asia country, but the rain often restricts the available days and hours for matches. This large (12 football fields) tensile structure provides a cover with a naturally controlled environment for play. The ridge and valley geometry with high points at the structural masts enhances airflow ventilation. Rainwater is collected in reflecting pools
This multi-purpose arena and exhibition facility includes an arena tied into the existing exhibition hall. Centrally located meeting rooms, food service preparation and a significant multi-purpose hospitality room space are also a part of this facility. These functions are readily accessible to the existing facilities as well as the new arena facility.
The South Commons Sports Complex served as the 1996 Olympic venue for Women’s Fast Pitch Softball. At the heart of the complex is a 10,000 seat civic center arena. The entire complex encompasses a renovated Memorial Football Stadium (for community events), a renovated Golden Park Baseball Stadium for the softball finals and eight new softball fields for the preliminary events.
The RBC Center is home to the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League and the North Carolina State University basketball team. This multi-sport facility is designed for a full range of athletic, entertainment and performance activities including Broadway stage shows, the circus, touring musical groups and other performances
Master planning, feasibility study, design and engineering for construction of a new suburban arena to tie into the existing exposition hall and 6,000 seat Veterans Memorial Arena. The facility is a multi-purpose arena with seating capacities of 9,240 for hockey, 10,040 for end stage concerts, and 10,902 for basketball.
This was one of my projects when I worked in Fairfax, VA. The project was to completely renovate Lejeune Hall Pool(the major pool at the Naval Academy in Annapolis Md). The project replaced the pools, the entire mechanical system, pool pump room, ceilings, finishes, scoreboards, pool deck and tile.
My most recent accomplishment includes ZNE analysis of a new physical fitness center at Joint Base Andrews. The USAF commissioned six prototype projects throughout the country to be analyzed for ZNE concepts. The fitness center was the most challenging of the six facility types due to its function and the Mid-Atlantic climate.
